Mission XP - 30 May 2016

Hey everyone!
Awesome week! Awesome transfer! So many miracles. I wrote this yesterday morning but last night I felt the spirit strongly from a new investigator. I'll send that later today or next week.
I wanted to start off by saying I'm so glad I'm in this area with Elder Ray. This area is so busy, I'm so excited for the work here, and Elder Ray is an amazing missionary. I feel like I'm being trained haha. He is a natural leader and missionary.
This week was also very good. We picked up three new investigators, but we won't be able to meet with two of them until next week.  We went on splits earlier this week and I went to an investigators that was strugling. I
love when I go on splits to go to a lesson because every time in my mission that I've been in a situation were i have to teach alone is when I've been able to feel and follow the guidance of the spirit the most. I can't depend on anyone else and I am not a very good teacher by myself. When I went to our appointment the plan was to figure out were she was. She'd met with missionaries several times before and had been taught everything alot. This made it difficult but as we got to that part it was also the time when I started feeling the spirit start teaching and asking questions. I could see her countenance changing slightly as she felt the spirit. It was awesome! Then when the time came the invitation to follow the example of Jesus Christ was extended and she said yes. She is on date for the 18th. She wants to be baptized but she feels like she's been taught everything and her husband
(member) and his parents can get her there. So that's were we are. But I feel she will be solidified.
Studies have been good too. They've mostly been focused on our investigators and less acitves but in companionship study I've been working on more effective o.y.m's and being led by the spirit with them.

My love to you all, keep being awesome!

Mission XP - 23 May 2016

I realize for a while I haven't kept y'all updated with transfers... I'm leaving South Jordan tomorrow morning. My new companion will be Elder Ray. Just like Elder Bouchillon, I went on exchanges with Elder Ray when we served in Draper together and now we will serve in West Jordan together. I don't want to leave but...yea... Also I know I have 18 weeks left but it just hit me that I only have three transfers left :/
Elder Schunk and I are doing very well. We talked about things in our companionship that we could work on, mainly just small things we do that have been getting to each other. Since we did that we've been so much happier and I feel it's affected our work in a good way. I've been taking find when you teach and teach when you find and applying in my daily missionary work. I can't remember if I mentioned that last week but for myself it's what I'm focusing on. We had a cool experience I think Wednesday where we were going by two people the Bishop and Ward Mission Leader had asked us to stop by and on the way from one to the other we saw a lady and her husband outside of there house. We were riding bikes so we stopped and started to talk to them. She is a nurse, which was fun because I want to be a nurse, but they are also less active so we talked a bit about church and how to strengthen your testimony and we invited them to go to church and we get to meet with them this week.

I love all yall <3

Mission XP - 16 May 2016 (two parts)

Hey! The Seminary Sunday thing sounds awesome. I think it is definitley a great thing to have.
In studies I've really been studying over 'find when you teach and teach when you find.' I understand the principle of teaching to peoples' needs but I struggle with the finding. When we talk with people I try to always teach some part of the restoration but about half the time I don't feel it's the part that would be the thing they need to hear. And also I really need to do better with effectivley finding as we teach less actives and non members but especially less actives. Elder Schunk and I, well mainly me, I didn't get my laundry all done on Monday so Tuesday I was wearing the only socks that were clean but they had pictures on them. And Saturday Elder Schunk and I didn't wake up when our alarms went off. So we are going to focus on having a more effective preperation day and better ways to wake up to our alarm. We go to bed on time so the zone leaders suggested we text Elder Espinoza at 6:30 which we were all for and we did it this morning but that's not really going to help because of the reason we slept in but whatever we are going to come up with some kind of way that will always wake us up. I think im going to do what I did back home and just sleep with my alarm on my bed by my ear.

Hey everyone! It was really nice being able to see y'all on Mother's Day. I'm glad each of you were there. :) We lost our car last week.
Other missionary cars were in the shop for repairs. So we hope we get ours back. So now were walking and biking...which is why I mentioned it was hot this week. Anyway, I hope each of you have an awesome week. And if your not feeling happy this week...stop not feeling happy and start feeling awesome instead ;)

Love y'all

Mission XP - 2 May 2016 Week of Mother's Day

This week was great but I kind of forgot most of it. We couldn't meet
meet with our investigators except for once this week. Also we had a
training on Sunday. We conducted and we trained for about 40 minutes
and one of the high councilman said it was really really good which I
needed because the only one in there who wasn't stone faced the whole
time was him our Mitas Creek Stake President and two other ward
mission leaders. Oh it was a training for our 13 ward mission leaders.
But it was good. Anyway, I'm looking forward for Mothers Day!

So this last week was good. Briefly, the foriegn exchange students (Yedi and Hyrin) are on date to be baptized on may 15th! Yedi is solid and understands and loves what we teach. Hyrin doesnt understand as much and she has to get permission from her parents to get baptized. We talked to a relief society president last night whi is korean and will be fellowshipping at the lessons!
