Mission XP - 20 July 2015

Exchanges were awesome this week. I went with Elder Gutierrez and we taught three lessons and knocked on several doors making appointments with at least two of them. Less actives if I remember correctly. It would be so nice if we could start every week with the temple but nevertheless it was exactly what I needed and as usual it was such an amazing experience. We had two lessons with our investigator Andrew this week. The first we just continued answering his questions and the last we taught the restoration and it was a really great lesson. The next lesson we are going to commit him to baptism because honestly he has a few hold ups but I really believe that if he could just understand that he just needs to rely on the lord and actually pray he would  know that he should be baptized. It's frustrating sometimes you know? He's researching, he's reading, he's going to church, but the one thing he isn't doing is praying...but we taught praying very good Friday so he should pray and find out.
MIRACLE!!!!!!! We were in a meeting today and at the end the gentleman in front of us turned around and said his nephew was calling his mom at that moment to ask if he could take the missionary discussions and he asked if we could give them to him so naturally we said, "oh..you want to take lessons and be baptized...let's see...no,no I don't think we can do that. Sorry" haha
But seriously that was a huge miracle and I'm not saying that this was why but I had been asking to find people as we walked and sought referrals and just the other day I started praying for someone who was ready to find us, like I'd heard someone had done when I first came out. So that was just an awesome prayer experience - cherry on top. :)

Mission XP - 14 July 2015

My finger is fine and pretty much healed with just a slight deformation that you can only see on X-ray. Thats very exciting about the primary I'll look forward to reading those letters. Oh and I'm sending you guys one sometime this week.

So those two sisters went the temple for the first time to be endowed? That's pretty awesome. There are quite a few young men and women who are about to go on missions and go though the temple here. We tracked into one yesterday and had a good conversation about what it's like and if it's hard to transition into being a missionary.

This week was pretty darn amazing. We opened our mouth to everyone we saw and most said no thanks, or we're members but at the very least we had good conversations and gained more member trust. I gave a small lesson on conversion through the Book of Mormon and that went ok, the lesson was good -I just need to get better at smooth transitions I guess. I lost my train of thought once or twice so I apologized to Elder Montgomery for that.
We picked up a new investigator and a lot of him seemed prepared. He goes to church and prays and he even reads but he's got a few questions we are trying to help him get answers to and his biggest concern is if he becomes a member his whole family won't be able to attend his actual wedding.
We also have two appointments set up this week with very potential investigators one of which will be today...yay!
We had exchanges yesterday and that was a great experience because we had three lessons and even though Elder Gutierrez and I have never worked together, we still had pretty good unity especially our first lesson about he gospel of Jesus Christ, so I thought that was awesome.

I hope this finds y'all in health I love you guys very much

Mission XP - 6 July 2015

Well I was writing a letter but I'll just email it. I stayed in
founders park so by the end of this transfer I'll have been here for
six months. I'll also pass my ninth and tenth month mark in this
transfer. I've already passed ninth. My new companion is Elder Heath. He
is pretty awesome and still has fire burning even though he is
dieing...I mean I'm killing him...I mean he's going home so I only get
one transfer. Yay😕 back to one companion a transfer. He is also into
working out which I was too until I came to founders park and got sick,
then fractured my thumb, then broke my pinkie, but I've started again
and together we have a small gym. Anyway, we haven't had a new
investigator since Pedro, who cancelled our lesson at temple square
because he had to work.  He did not get baptized on the fourth but
we kind of saw that coming. His girlfriend is a R.M heck the house
hold is full of R.M's but no baptism but it'll get there.

This week was good. We didn't find any new investigators but we sure
have talked to loads of people. We both have a good feeling about this week.

We had a crazy amazing zone conference last Thursday super spiritual
and very . . . enlightening to say the least but more about that in a
letter.

Love you guys have a great and spiritual week
